This is for me
Here we go. This is for me. Yes. I am writing for myself. And for anyone else who might be landing here. Dance like nobody’s watching and write like nobody’s reading. Yes, the claim from Sympatexter “blog like nobody's reading” has inspired me to write this text (thanks for the inspiration!).
I want to write for the sake of writing. I don't want to sell anything, I don't want to advertise my children's theatre or any of the projects that I will be doing, and I don't want to write about my research projects .
Not today.
Later.
I just want to start writing again, for me, first of all. I want to release the pressure in my head: there are so many texts in there that want to be written.
Overload of words
Since the beginning of the pandemic I have been having an overload of words in my head: thoughts, ideas, statements, poems and whatever have you. I did manage to put some of it out there, especially in the beginning. But my website was broken, so the only place where I could put out some material was social media. And after a while it didn't seem like the right place for me to put out my “private thoughts”. Like most people I have an ambiguous relationship to social media....
Everyday I still have several ideas for texts that could be made into either a social media post, a YouTube video, a text for a theatre piece, a song or a blog text.
So here we go, this is a blog text about me and my words.
Form, content and the beginning of something new
This is a blog text about me and my work.
This is me looking for form for all my content.
This is me looking for structure in my work and in my life.
I have been writing, dancing, painting, singing and making music my whole life, and most of it within closed doors. A lot of what I have produced never reaches the public. But through my theater work I have been able to put some of all this content info form and bring some of it to the public. Most of it you can find here: Theater Tüte - my children's Theatre, which I have been working on since 2004.
I have been doing theatre for 38 years now (yes, I started as a kid), and a lot of what I have done is not online. The main projects, the most exciting projects that I have done aren't even online. There are no signs whatsoever of these projects, not even a photograph online.
The schools I went to don't exist anymore, and there are no signs of it online. Because some of it happened a long time ago… before the internet, before social media.
I now have this fairly new website for my work for grown ups, but there is still hardly any evidence of what I've done here. So that is what I am going to do. Fill this website with words and pictures and maybe also some videos of what I have done. Let's see..
I have started.
This is the beginning of something new.
